What motivated you to start NuLife?
I was just tired of being heavy and I wanted to live the rest of my life in a healthy manner.
For you, what is the difference between working out at NuLife versus a gym?
The difference in working out at NuLife versus an actual fitness facility is everyone knows you by name. We are like one big happy family motivating one another. In other fitness facilities you just pick a machine and go for it.
What’s your favorite NuLife exercise(s) or drill(s)?
Power sit-ups and Seven count runs.
How has NuLife changed you socially, physically & mentally?
NuLife has changed me socially by making me feel more comfortable to talk to people I don’t know versus before I was a little shy. Physically, NuLife has made me feel more comfortable in my own skin. I can’t wait to go shopping for clothes. It feels good to have options. Mentally, NuLife has helped me train myself to eat in a healthy manner. I understand how to read labels and the right amount of foods and nutrients to consume in a day.
What are your personal goals?
My personal goals are to lose the last 22 lbs and meet my total goal of 100 lbs and keep it off.
What is your workout regiment (including NuLife and extra activities)?
With the exception of me just joining the 60 day challenge, I take iPump classes three times a week and on the other four days I utilize NuLife Superior facility and run on the treadmill, sweat in the sauna, and use other machines to work my stomach, etc. In the summer I walk and run the Euclid Creek trail.
What obstacles have you encountered thus far during your journey to a healthier lifestyle?
The obstacles I have encountered thus far are working through the pain. When you are giving it your all soreness will occur, but if you can work through that, the light is at the end of the tunnel.
How do you stay focused and motivated?
I stay focused through prayer, my family and the great NuLife team that notices what your progress. The greatest feeling is to hear Miesha say “Hey girl! I didn’t even recognize you…You look great!” or Dee say “Come on Mary!” during a class.
What would you say to anyone struggling with weight loss?
There’s no such thing as I can’t. Set a goal. Don’t expect to lose weight over night. It’s a process and with hard work and determination YOU CAN DO IT! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!
What do you enjoy the most about NuLife?
The NuLife family, the wonderful facility, and those delicious smoothies are what I really enjoy.
